Between them they have sold over 150 million records and toured the world but it wasn't enough. Dane Bowers (Another Level), Bradley McIntosh (S Club 7), Danny Wood (New Kids on the Block) and Jimmy Constable (911) who all form Upper Street.
Filmed for MTV's 'Totally Boyband, their single, 'The One' is NOW OUT in shops across the country. Dane tell us how he feels about Lee now, the single, reality TV and which band member 'got lucky' the night before.
Q: How were you approached to do 'Totally Boyband'?
DB: Basically we all got the call from MTV about 8 months ago now. They told us about the idea for the show and what the concepts were. We really liked the idea and thought it was going to be a good thing to do.
Q: Did you have any reservations?
DB: We all have our families. Apart from that we thought it was a good idea. We knew what we could do individually so we didn't worry about how we came across professionally.
Q: Were you nervous about meeting the other members of the band?
DB: Yeah, we didn't have a clue who was going to be and it ended up that we did have someone in the group that didn't.
Q: Why do you think it was so hard to work with him?
DB: He was quite rude and arrogant. That got our backs up in the first instance. But on a professional level he can't really write, he's not the best singer in the world. We sat there and thought, 'What is the point in carrying someone that isn't contributing?'
Q: If you saw him at a club or a party what would you say to him?
DB: I'd say 'Hi'. We don't hate him; there is no animosity. It was just a business thing that didn't work out.
Q: Do you think he sees it like that?
DB: No, he's probably quite upset out it. It's the harsh reality of a TV show and they made a big deal out of it. We said to him this is what we think and this is how it is. At the end of the day we have no problem about what we did at all.
Q: Was it hard having the cameras following your ever move?
DB: Not really, it's been quite easy to be honest. For the first week or so you are quite conscious of it and after that you get quite use to it.
Q: Has it put you off celebrity big brother or any of the other reality TV shows?
DB: I don't know I'd do celebrity big brother. The other jungle stuff is kinda cool cos you're actually doing something. Whereas in Big Brother you are just sitting around doing nothing and that doesn't seem appealing to me.
