Prior to attaining his status as a modern day footballing judas in the eyes of Arsenal fans everywhere, Ashley Cole was actually a rare example of a local lad done good. After a short loan spell at Crystal Palace, he forced his way into the Arsenal first team permanently when he stepped in for the then injured first choice left back Sylvinho. He went on to become an England regular and was lauded for his great recovery skills and ability to get forward and join attacks. Some call him simply the greatest left-back in the world. Arsenal fans just call him Cashley.
